Compare internet and TV
Comparing an internet and TV package pays off, because the differences in price, speed and terms between providers are large. Below you compare daily-updated packages from providers including KPN, Ziggo, Odido, DELTA Fiber and Vodafone, with fibre, cable and DSL, with or without television. This way you find the fastest connection for your address at the sharpest price.
Fibre, cable or DSL?
Fibre offers the highest and most stable speeds, with equal upload and download speed, provided it is available at your address. Cable via Ziggo also reaches high download speeds up to 1 Gbit per second, but with a lower upload speed. DSL over the phone line is the slowest and is increasingly being replaced by fibre. Always check first which connections are available at your address.
Which speed do you need?
For a household that browses, emails and occasionally streams, 100 to 200 Mbit per second is plenty. If you work from home with video calls, several people game at once or you stream in 4K on multiple screens, 500 Mbit to 1 Gbit per second is more comfortable. Also watch the upload speed if you send many large files or work from home.
With or without television?
Many providers offer internet on its own or in a package with television and sometimes a landline. A combined package is often cheaper than separate services, but only if you actually use the TV. If you mostly watch via streaming services, internet-only can be cheaper.
Watch promotional rates and term
Many internet packages have an attractive promotional rate for the first year, after which the price rises. So look at the price after the promotional period and the term of the contract. Work out the average monthly price over the full term to compare packages fairly.
